Armageddon war vs Gog/Magog war

Could the Eternal be more clear than this revealing’s?

Is Gog/Magog involved in the endtime war previous to the second coming which some call Armageddon?

Here’s I my examination and personal view regarding this wars.

First we read:

JOEL 3: the endtime war is NOT the GOG/MAGOG WAR!

The Lord Judges the Nations: still not fulfilled!

"1 For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,

2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

3 And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.

4 Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre (Lebanon), and Zidon (Lebanon), and all the coasts of Palestine (= very clear!)? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head;

5 Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things:

6 The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border.

7 Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompence upon your own head:

8 And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the LORD hath spoken it.

9 Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles; Prepare war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:

10 Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong.

11 Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD.

12 Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.

13 Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.

14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

15 The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.

16 The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel."

Blessings for God's People

17 So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.

18 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim.

19 Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.

20 But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.

21 For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the LORD dwelleth in Zion.

The endtime war before Yeshua returns shall take place in the valley of Jehoshaphat or Kidron valley, between the Holy city and the Mount of Olives. Rev 16:16: calls this war:  “And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.”

What says Zechariah 14:3-5:

"…3 Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle. 4 In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south. 5 You will flee by the valley of My mountains, for the valley of the mountains will reach to Azel; yes, you will flee just as you fled before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD, my God, will come, and all the holy ones with Him!…"

Revelation 20:7-10: After the Millennium: Gog Magog war defeated with fire from above after the Holy city lived for many years in prosperity and peace!

What is Revelation really telling us about this war:

Satan Cast into the Lake of Fire

"7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. 9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever."

It is written:"...where the beast and the false prophet are,", which means this war is another than the endtime war before Yeshua returns! The beast and the false prophet are already defeated and casted into the lake of fire after Yeshua's return, and in the same way after 1000 years, God shall cast Gog and Magog into the lake of fire.

The Gog Magog war for some claim is the Armageddon war, but clearly isn't, shall occur AFTER the Millennium, not before: Revelation 20 states that crystal clear, but also Ezekiel and it's in Ezekiel that most scholars missed the insight! Thereby, where in Rev 20 is mentioned a place where this Gog/Magog war shall occur? Nowhere! Why than bible scholars claim that the Armageddon war, which is not the after Millennium war, takes place in Megiddo referring to the name Har Megiddo? Armageddon is not Har Megiddo nor a war in that place, but only a Hebrew symbolic name used for great and important battles.

Rev 16:

"12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. 14 For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. 15 Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. 16 And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon."

This chapter is cleary stating a war previous to the second coming.

Armageddon in this verse is a symbolical Hebrew name used for great battles and has nothing to do with a physical place! Armageddon refers in a symbolic way to the endtime war in the Jehosaphat Valley.

Ezekiel 38:1-16

Prophecy against Gog

1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, 3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: 4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords: 5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: 6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.

7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them. 8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. 9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.

10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought: 11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, 12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land. 13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?

14 Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it? 15 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: 16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

What is Ezekiel telling us?

"Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely," and

"After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them. 9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee." and "...to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods..."

Is this a description about a current worried and afraid Israel? I don't think so, for they are not living in peace today and is not brought back from the sword! Not yet, and regarding endtime there is still a tribulation period to come. Thus this is not an endtime war but an after Millennium war after Israel is living in peace and brought back from all nations which occurs after Yeshua's return.

Then we read about the nations allied with Gog and Magog. Are ancient Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya, Gomer, Sheba and Dedan (look on current maps who these are!) current allies of Gog/Magog, which is the king of the North and current Turkey after we examined the real Gog/Magog and Mesech/Tubal and came to the conclusion it all refers to current Turkey? I don't think so, at least not yet! And then we also do not even know who these will be at the end of the Millennium. Will the name Turkey still exists? Who knows.

Good advice: read and examine with insight: the Gog/Magog war is a final judgment war before eternal peace gets on earth, which, as some claim but not stated by bible, takes place in the Jazreel Valley in Megiddo which lies to the upper north of Jerusalem. The endtime war when Yeshua returns, shall occur in the Jehosaphat Valley or Kidron Valley between the Holy City and the Mount of Olives which lies in Jerusalem. This war is stated with a battle place by bible.

That means two different wars: one before the Millennium and one right thereafter! Regarding the Gog/Magog war, Bible speaks of an peaceful living city, and that's not what we current see in Israel, to think it will get worse every current day until the second coming of our Lord Yeshua.

Blessed are you brothers and sisters, may peace be with you!

Shalom
