God’s law regarding feasts, times and signs

People's Faith was always sealed by festivals. The Christian West regarding the sanctification of God, follows and honors all festivals established by the Vatican. But the Bible speaks of God's appointed times or festivals that does not comply with the Vatican. If we compare both, then we state that the Vatican in this case undeniably opposes God's times, signs and festivals.

This we call delusion and false teachings, or a misinterpretation of God's word and worse; to assume that this is the correct way to worship God and Yeshua.

Now question is:

Are God’s festivals intended for Israel only or for whole humanity?

Let start at the beginning when God started with His appointments regarding His creation:

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth and on the fourth day He created Sun, Moon, Stars, and God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:” Genesis 1:14. KJV

Here we read the word 'seasons'!

Other translations regarding the word 'seasons':

Jubilee Bible 2000 Gen 1:14:

“And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for appointed times and for days and years;”

New International Version Gen1:14:

“And God said, "Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,”

Holman Christian Standard Bible Gen 1:14:

“Then God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night. They will serve as signs for festivals and for days and years.”

In the KJV version, the word ‘season’ is a wrong translation, as many other mistranslations! God here does not point to year seasons as fall or spring, but points to His sacred feast days or Holy Year Shab-bats.

The original word is ‘moed’ and means: appointed time, set time, place, or meeting.

Does this mean that God’s feasts as mentioned in Genesis 1: 14 only were created to be respected by the Israelites?

What about verse Genesis 1:14 and

Genesis 2:1-3:

“1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.”

Where in these creation verses we find Israel? Did God mention Israel as a nation during creation?

Apparently not, because Israel came later and means more than only an Earthly nation! More on: Who is the real Israel

then why Christian Catholics use their own feasts made by Vatican when they, as they claim, rely on the bible? Where in bible we find Thanksgiving, Xmas, Passover on Sunday, Ascension and Mary undefiled which is celebrated on Aug 15 and last but not least Sunday as the weekly rest day of God and mankind? Where in bible we find to baptize a new born child? Where in the Bible we find the first Holy Communion, ect …? NO WHERE!

Why then people deny God's words and His law? Why people deny God’s creation calendar?

Here we only can state deception and haughtiness against God by changing His sacred decisions into human standards which contain no values, let alone any redemption.

Is it clear what I mean? Everything men decide to create and accept as holy has no purpose or meaning, because people do not possess the divine authority as the One Almighty. This divine authority He gave to His Son. God gave all authorities of the universe to His only begotten Son! But I think Vatican hasn’t get it yet and meanwhile, even after more than 2000 years, still many so called Christians do not understand it!

Let’s be honest and wise: if some would argue that the law only affects Adam and Eve who were already been created on the sixth day, than from whom descended the whole humanity? Obviously and without any doubt from the same Adam and Eve, and all their descendants undeniably are tied to God's creation laws and rules which, as well as everything God afterwards would apply as His law. Every word He ever said was meant for all mankind, for He is a Father who doesn’t mind if you are Israelite, Jew or Greek! Israel means ‘man of God’, so every man can be an Israelite! Do you get this? I guess you do!

In other words: God’s Law never changed and was never abolished!

The Israelites was a people chosen by God, just as an example to the rest of the nations, so that all nations, after they saw the prosperities of the chosen people, they would accept the One living God and His laws and forget about their pagan idols; everything as planned and decided in the beginning, for everything in the heavens already existed from the very beginning of All, which regards the time before the creation of the universe. God as we call Him is the Invisible Spirit, the Ineffable and One Almighty, and nothing is above Him. He is He who always was, is and shall be! He is the beginning and the end; the Alpha & the Omega.

Why all people must accept and respect God’s Law and orders?

For we are all souls and children of the Ineffable One, and because of the existence of evil, not any mortal can be connected with God, and for this reason humanity had to be redeemed from all evil tires.

And because of this same reason the Almighty sacrificed His Son, so all these human souls would become unstained as the Son, and become souls of Light who then can walk in the worlds of Light, making part of the divine ones in the Heavens as on earth as well!

God’s festivals are:

  1. Passover -  Pesach

  2. Feast of unleavened bread and First Fruits – Chag Hamotzi and Reshit Katzir

  3. Pentecost or Feast of Weeks – Shavu’ot

  4. Feast of Trumpets – Yom Teru’ah

  5. Atonement – Yom Kippur

  6. Tabernacles - Sukkot

  7. Great Day or Eight Day - Shemini Atzert

The Great Day: This one-day festival occurs right at the end of the seven-day Feast of Tabernacles, which pictures the Millennial Reign of Christ (Rev.20:4; Isa.11).  The last or seventh day of the Feast of Tabernacles pictures the FINAL DAY OF HARVEST or INGATHERING -- that is, the final time of spiritual harvest which is pictured by the Great White Throne judgment, when all those who ever lived are resurrected and "judged" according to their works (Rev.20:11-15).  This "seventh day" of the Feast is also called "the great day of the feast" (John 7:37), and is the time when God's Spirit is poured out on all mankind (John 7:37-39).  It pictures a truly "great day of salvation" when billions will be saved, and will come to know God!

Since the seventh day of the Feast of Tabernacles completes the "harvest festival" of the great fall harvest -- and therefore represents the FINAL DAY of "harvesting" and "ingathering" -- the COMPLETION of the salvation process, and God's Plan with mankind.

The three major festivals: Pesach, Shavu’ot and Sukkot:

NKJ Exodus 34:23-24: "Three times in the year all your men shall appear before the Lord, the LORD God of Israel. For I will cast out the nations before you and enlarge your borders; neither will any man covet your land when you go up to appear before the LORD your God three times in the year.”

These are the seven Holy Year Sha-bats of God

The Shab-bat is the week shab-bat or Saturday.

The Harvest Festivals in the Old and New Testaments

How many "feasts of the Lord" are listed in the Old Testament, and how do they relate to the harvest seasons?

Leviticus 23:4-6, 16, 24, 27, 34-36

"'These are the feasts of the Lord, holy convocations which you shall proclaim at their appointed times.

"'On the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight is the Lord's Passover.

"'And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the Feast of Unleavened Bread to the Lord; seven days you must eat unleavened bread...

"Count fifty days to the day after the seventh Sabbath; then you shall offer a new grain offering to the Lord...

"Speak to the children of Israel, saying: 'In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a Shab-bat-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation...

"Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the Lord...

"Speak to the children of Israel, saying: 'The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to the Lord.

"'On the first day there shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it.

"'For seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. On the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. It is a sacred assembly, and you shall do no customary work on it.'"

The seven festivals occur during three harvest seasons in the Holy Land. Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread occur at the beginning of the barley harvest in the spring. The Feast of Weeks, or Pentecost, occurs at the end of the barley and wheat harvests. The last four festivals are all in the late summer and autumn harvest season. These are known as the Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Feast of Tabernacles and Eighth Day (which we often refer to as the Last Great Day).

While these harvest festivals were given to the nation of Israel at that time, note that God calls them "feasts of the Lord" and "My feasts" (Leviticus 23:2).

Did Jesus Christ, the apostles and New Testament Church also celebrate these festivals?

1 Corinthians 5:7-8

“Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover was sacrificed for us.

Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.”

Acts 2:1

“When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.”

John 7:37

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink."

These are just a few of the many references to God's festivals in the New Testament. We will cover more of them in future lessons.

Will all nations celebrate these festivals after Jesus Christ returns to set up the Kingdom of God?

Zechariah 14:16

“And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.”

When Yeshua ascended from the Mount of Olives, the angels told His disciples He would return in the same way (Acts 1:9-11). Zechariah 14:4 mentions that "His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives," and this will mark the beginning of the rule of the Kingdom of God on earth. One of the commanded celebrations of the Kingdom of God will be the Feast of Tabernacles, an integral component of the progression of God's festivals.

Conclusion:

Do we true Christians and all mankind as well have to respect God’s festivals as written in bible?

Indeed we have!

Not only do we have to follow His holy festivals, but also His week Shab-bat rest day, which He created for us, and we must follow also His laws, rules and orders as well.

Do not follow the world, but follow Yeshua and the Father and you’ll be saved!

Only then you are tied to God and will make part of His holy ones as a child of God.

Only then you can be a child of the Light.

Blessed and may peace be with you,

Shalom
